The people behind the horses, literally.

Adam Degenstein and Kelly MacIntosh are the owners of Horse Drawn Okanagan, which was officially created in 2017. Adam and Kelly have both been involved with horses their whole lives, but it was the love of their Clydesdales that inspired them to create Horse Drawn Okanagan, and spend more time together doing so.

Adam grew up on family farm in Saskatchewan. He knew early on that he wanted to become a farrier and make his living with horses. He became a Certified Journeyman Farrier, Canadian Horse Shoeing Champion, 6 time Canadian Team member and clinician specializing in draft horse shoeing. His passion for Clydesdales started when he purchased 2 beautiful horses from a client 13 years ago. 2 Clydesdales turned into 4, which turned into a small herd not long after. Adam has trained and driven his own 6 horse hitch, shown at the World Clydesdale Show in Canada and Royal Highland Show in Scotland, but what he most prefers is plowing. Without any doubt, Adam can be found out in the field, every spring and fall, in a quiet place, placing furrows and perfecting his crowns in a plot of dirt with his Clydesdale horses.

Kelly grew up in southern Ontario, and started riding at a local stable near her grandparents hobby farm. After moving to British Columbia, she spent all her spare time on a horse. With a background in Pony Club and eventing, later coaching and judging, she was very interested in learning to drive horses when the opportunity arose. These days Kelly prefers more to drive Clydesdales, ride Dressage, and she has done some combined driving with her pony. She loves to spend time with Adam and the Clydesales at horse shows, community events, weddings and taking the reins on the marketing and events side of Horse Drawn Okanagan.
